The bridge between imagination and reality
Born from the practical experience of Energy Observer 1, the first ship to complete a round-the-world voyage using a mix of 100% renewable energies and hydrogen produced on board, EO Concept transforms experimentation into industrial-scale solutions. Where EO1 demonstrated feasibility, EO Concept structures scalability: disruptive technologies, multi-vector architectures, and energy models designed for large-scale implementation.
EO Concept is headquartered in Saint-Malo, France.

Our expertise
We design and scale multi-vector energy infrastructures tailored to the operating constraints of maritime transport, thoroughly testing each technical choice before its industrial deployment.
Our developments are based on feedback from the Energy Observer 1 and Energy Observer 3 floating labs, which act as real-world validation platforms. The resulting architectures are tested at sea, powered by data from practical use and are continuously optimized through performance analysis.
Definition of multi-fuel scenarios
Design of H₂ / NH₃ / e-fuels pipelines
Propulsion/storage/conversion integration
Sizing via digital twins
Using our proprietary tools, we model the technical and economic impact of an energy-related decision before it is implemented. By integrating the entire system lifecycle with current and future regulatory frameworks, we transform constraints into strategic leverage and anticipate economic trajectories.
We ensure that new energy sources are safely integrated into the maritime environment by combining risk analysis, safety requirements, and compliance with classification standards.
Our approach allows us to anticipate critical scenarios and to ensure compliance with regulations for innovative projects.

Our offer
EO Concept offers a comprehensive range of services combining advanced engineering, technological development, and strategic software tools to support the decarbonization of maritime transport. We operate at three complementary levels :
Design
Innovative energy architectures
We support shipowners, shipyards, and port operators by helping them define and structure their energy transition strategy.
More specifically, we deliver:
- Scenarios that compare and rank energy sources
- A scaled and validated systems architecture
- A technological and regulatory roadmap
- A framework for future compliance
Validate
Marine-ready technological building blocks
We develop cross-functional building blocks designed for integration into various types of fleets.EO Concept designs certifiable energy systems designed for gradual integration into commercial vessels, based on industrialization and expansion strategies.
Marine-grade high-temperature SOFC cell : High electrical efficiency (~60 %), multi-fuel compatibility (H₂, NH₃, methane, etc.), scalable modular architecture up to MW, approval by rating organizations
Multi-pathway energy chains : Ammonia cracker integration, PEM & SOFC coupling, 10 kW → 1 MW modules, suitable for feeder, ferry, and specialized vessels

EOCompass® digital platform
EOCompass® is our software solution for decision-making and energy optimization. It allows users to compare alternative fuels based on their actual impact, to simulate costs and regulatory penalties, to optimize energy allocation during operation, and to manage a fleet's carbon performance.
By integrating technical, economic, and regulatory constraints into a single simulated environment, EOCompass® transforms the complexity of the maritime transition into a strategic tool for investment and compliance.
I am delighted to contribute to the development of technological solutions for the maritime energy transition. This is an exciting and complex challenge, driven by a committed multidisciplinary team, with the ambition to showcase industrial expertise in France and create lasting value.
