“For nearly seven years, Energy Observer has been an inspiring ambassador of fuel cells powered by clean hydrogen from renewable energy at its many destinations and ports of call. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to visit with the vessel’s crew in person and learn more about how hydrogen fuel cells have supported this innovative craft on its great journey”

Sunita Satyapal, head of Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) at the DOE

“A magnificent stopover under the Washington sun amidst the cherry blossom season! Beyond the perfect photographic snapshot, we had the great pleasure of welcoming over 200 people, including political and economic decision-makers (Department of Energy, White House, NASA, The World Bank...), academics (Johns Hopkins...), representatives from our partners (Toyota, ACCOR Group, Air Liquide, ...) to raise awareness about the necessity of developing solutions to reduce our dependence on carbon-based energies. Additionally, to showcase the existence of effective solutions already available, such as those deployed onboard.”

Dominique Lecocq, Energy Observer Endowment Fund - Strategy & communication

A major stopover for Energy Observer in a country preparing to elect its future president. The United States, the world's second-largest energy consumer after China, occupies a central position on the energy scene. The Biden administration has adopted a historic €360 billion plan to reduce the country's CO2 emissions by 40%, with debates ranging between energy reality and ecological roadmap.

Despite being committed to an ambitious policy to reduce its carbon emissions, the country remains the world's largest producer of gas and oil and the second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases globally.
