We spoke with Frédéric Ménière, President of EVE System, Chloé Zaied, Managing Director of HYNOVA Yachts, and Romain Jallon, Director of Operations at EODev, to explain how electro-hydrogen hybridization is ideal for decarbonized maritime mobility.

In 2020, Energy Observer made the longest sailings in her history with its first transatlantic crossing and the exploration of overseas territories up to French Guiana, counting more than 10 000 nautical miles. Let's have a look at the energy performances of our vessel during a year like no other.

Our vessel left the water on January the 4th for a three-week technical stopover in Le Marin, Martinique. A short break after a year 2020 marked by the longest navigations since leaving Saint-Malo in 2017.

EODev announces that it has acquired a stake in EVE System, which will enable the two companies to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission solutions in the context of the European "Green Deal".

EODev presented its land-based hydrogen power generator and maritime range extender in operation on the industrial site of its partner and manufacturer ENERIA, on Thursday, September 17, in the presence of its shareholders. The products developed by the start-up meet the objectives of the "France Hydrogen plan”.

The closing of this first round of funding will accelerate the industrialization and commercialization of the solutions developed by EODev around the latest hydrogen technologies and meet the challenges of the energy transition.

Our catamaran left the Bahamas on 15th July to set sail for Martinique, where she arrived on 28th July. A navigation of more than 1,500 miles carried out in one go with difficult weather conditions.

Organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco, this event is unique in the world as it demonstrates the true commitment of researchers, future engineers, and professionals to carbon-free yachting. And hydrogen solutions were largely rewarded!

Only consume what we are capable to producing, and no more than what nature can give us: that's what the boat and crew manage to do on a daily basis!

While the crew of Energy Observer continues to navigate the Atlantic without being able to set foot on land, another team is holding its breath: that of Energy Observer Developments (EODev), whose REXH2 is currently sailing on the first hydrogen vessel around the world.

Energy Observer’s first transatlantic passage, from Finistère to Martinique, served as a test bed for this year’s key innovations in renewable energies aboard the floating laboratory.

The vessel is at the halfway point of the first transatlantic crossing using renewable energies and hydrogen. An “anniversary” that comes in a difficult global context. Interview with Victorien Erussard and Jérôme Delafosse.
