“You know, I often say, a boat is a little planet. You have to manage the whole thing, the energy driving it and even the waste. We really are in a world of water, so we should take our lead from this boat, and go out of our way not to pollute.”

This stopover was also the opportunity for our crew to sail just a few yards from the unmissable Fort Boyard, the stage of a famous French TV show. This historic monument has seen a whole cast of celebrities rise to a range of different challenges.

And it was off the shores of La Rochelle that Energy Observer, with the help of Yves Parlier, President of Beyond the sea, had the occasion of testing the Liberty Kite. Currently designed for boats from 4 to 18 metres long, a longer version could be added to Energy Observer’s energy mix in the future.
