Energy Observer arrives in Saint-Tropez
Saint-Tropez: One of the Mediterranean’s main ports of call
Regarded as a preferred destinations by cruise ship companies and a renowned international business center, the port of Saint-Tropez alone has 734 anchorages divided in two basins. A stopping point that welcomes different types of ships all year round, and presents a major challenge for local authorities as they try to preserve the natural marine heritage. On a daily basis, it is therefore 40 people who work to keep the port functioning properly and raise awareness about how to protect the environment around the port (containers for household waste, interdiction to degas in the port waters, micro recycling station...)
In line with these actions, the city and port of Saint-Tropez welcomed the first hydrogen vessel around the world and its interactive exhibition for a few days.

The boat is visible in front of the Quai de l'Epi all day, and content is available to discover our #Odyssey for the future from 10am to 6pm every day.
Energy Observer in Saint-Tropez
While the vessel was moored near Môle Jean Réveille from the 12th to the 16 of August, the Energy Observer “cube” was installed on the Épi quay from the 11th to the 15th of August, in front of the harbor master’s office. A free exhibition to help show tourists and locals about the need to build a cleaner future.

The Mayor of Saint-Tropez aboard the vessel
Victorien Erussard, captain and founder of Energy Observer, and his crew welcomed Jean-Pierre Tuveri, Mayor of Saint-Tropez, aboard the vessel. During this moment of dialogue, the Mayor expressed his interest in this revolutionary mix of energies, with an eye to making St Tropez’s port cleaner.

This stopover was also punctuated by visits from several groups of children from the city’s summer camp. An opportunity for our team to raise awareness in the local community from a young age.

Finally, to close its St. Tropez stopover, Energy Observer got the chance to watch the 14th of August fireworks, shot from a barge in front of the Môle Jean Réveille.
Energy Observer left the port on the morning of the 16th of August and is currently on a four-day convoy to the Balearic Islands. It will make a stop in Minorca, and then in Majorca.
