Energy Observer arrives in Royan Harbour

After a week stay in the Bordeaux sunshine filled with encounters, the boat set off up the River Garonne towards Royan, where the Festival des Nouvelles Explorations was being held. While Victorien Erussard and Jérôme Delafosse presented the boat and the issues it raises, the crew set about an important task: getting Energy Observer ready for its voyage around Spain and Portugal towards the Mediterranean.

The Festival des Nouvelles Explorations brings together explorers to talk about geographic exploration and environmental issues. This is an event that totally corresponds to the aims of Energy Observer. This is why Victorien Erussard and Jérôme Delafosse headed for the Palais des Congrès in Royan to meet Bettina Laville, the President of Comité 21, and François Marot. Their discussion focused on the technological and human explorations represented by Energy Observer.

Seeing as the catamaran is scheduled to revisit Royan next year, an invitation was set for it to be a part of next year’s Festival. To be continued!
